Texas Association for Alternative Education - (TAAE)
2011 TAAE Conference Information
Is a statewide association for the teacher professionals involved in alternative education. Alternative education in public schools, charter schools, schools of choice, juvenile justice, disciplinary settings, school within a school which strive to keep and graduate kids in Texas who are not in main stream teaching facilities. Our Texas alternative teachers are advocates for the kids in need and targeted by Texas Education Agency as candidates for “No Child Left Behind” concerns.

The mission of the Association shall be to create a supportive network committed to providing a quality education for all students in Alternative Education.
 
  • To unite professionals dedicated to providing and promoting quality education for students in alternative education into a state association.
     
  • To support comprehensive training programs for educators engaged in the field of alternative education;
     
  • To collaborate with agencies that support the goals of alternative education;
     
  • To involve educators in the legislative and governmental processes to promote and advance the purposes of the profession; and
     
  • To promote the Educator’s Code of Ethics.
